VII. Nei Kung rebuilds the body from the inside out.

Concepts which are validated in acupuncture and disciplines such as Nei Kung evolved from the Taoist’s pursuit of Nature’s energetic blueprint for the body. In that paradigm, chi is perceived as moving through an intricate multi-dimensional network of pathways called meridians which constitute the track of this life force as it guides the formation of material tissue on a cellular level all the way up the governing hierarchy of operating systems. Precise structural alignment coupled with deep breathing in the Nei Kung postures stimulates a long chain reaction of intense physiological processes throughout the body’s many vital functions.

These alignments focus on a centering of the weight of the body in the skeletal frame as a means of support rather than relying on bulk external muscles like the quadriceps or the biceps. Bone, extended tendon lines and joint arrangements held in certain full body positions create a rich internal field of chi which permeates soft tissue, organs and even the dense cellular complexes of collagen. The end result is in-depth strength and flexibility on a structural as well as muscular level; with supple, young, radiantly toned skin on the outside. Hence, the body is built from the inside out. Nei Kung practitioners have an expression for this. It is called, "Iron bar wrapped in cotton."
