TESTIMONIALS
To Whom It May Concern:

I am an attorney, currently teaching law at a major law school in Los Angeles. I have been practicing Nei Kung as a student of Jim Borrelli for approximately seven years. When I met Jim, I was practicing corporate litigation in the Los Angeles Branch of a major New York Law firm. My work was highly stressful; in addition to dealing with difficult clients and opposing counsel, I was constantly faced with seemingly impossible deadlines. I had to work many evenings and weekends, including long hours at the computer. I was extremely stressed out and suffered from severe headaches and a repetitive stress wrist injury from working at the computer. Attending class once a week, learning the Nei King forms and practicing them regularly immediately helped me cope with stress and feel calmer and more relaxed. I had much more energy throughout the day, even when I was unable to get adequate sleep. Nei King helped relieve discomfort to my entire body caused by long hours of sitting and computer work, and alleviated the pain in my wrists.

I strongly recommend Nei Kung for any professional (or anyone, for that matter) who encounters a lot of stress, has chronic physical problems, or simply wants to feel more energetic and alive. Jim is also a great teacher. He has a wonderful ability to break down complex alignments and explain esoteric concepts simply. He has a great sense of humor, and his classes are a lot of fun.

Sincerely,

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter to highly recommend Nei Kung as a form of exercise and Jim Borrelli as an instructor for anyone who suffers from back pain or stress.

When I was 15 years old, I had a severe back injury – I tried to jump off a roof into a swimming pool, and missed the pool, cracking three vertebrae in my lower back. While my back eventually healed to functioning level, there was still a lot of tension and discomfort. By the time I was 22, I was waking up in the morning with clenched teeth due to stress and was spending about 40% of my day fixated on my back pain.

I tried going to a chiropractor, yoga, and even ballet stretching classes, but it only got worse. It was at that time, while living in New York, that I met Master C.K. Chu and began to study Nei Kung. I began to feel results almost instantly – parts of my back which had been for so long tight and tense began to feel loose and flexible. Not only was I not a slave to back pain for the fist time in years, I actually had a whole new level of energy.

When I moved back to California, Master Chu told me about Jim Borrelli, who was his student and who then went on to help him write The Book of Nei Kung.

Simply said, Jim is a great teacher. He thoroughly understands the principles of Nei Kung, the dynamics of the human body and can tailor his explanation to a wide variety of people. He takes pride in his teaching and puts 100% in making sure his students understand.

Nei Kung not only can heal pain in the body, but it helps filter out all the stress and static we absorb in the modern world. Jim Borrelli is an excellent practitioner and teacher of this profound system of exercise.

Dear Sir or Madam:

I am pleased to write this letter recommending Jim Borrelli and Nei Kung. I first learned of Nei Kung and Jim Borrelli from a colleague with whom I appeared on a California State Bar panel. He was older than me, but looked a lot better. When he told me about a kind of "stretching" that he did that gave him energy I pursued the matter.

My initial benefit was to realign my body (get the bones and muscles to where they should be). The rest of the experience involved incremental and subtle changes. I move with greater fluidity and ease. My energy has increased. These aspects of the practice should be experienced by all. Other aspects are more idiosyncratic and cannot be related.

I cannot think of a more unique experience. My mornings (which is when I practice) are the most enjoyable part of my day. Nei Kung is the one thing I always look forward to doing and it is one of the most important things I do for myself.

The process of teaching is probably like the practice itself. The essence (as far as I can determine) is gradual incremental improvement, such as greater extensions that stretch without injuring. (Nonphysical extensions are too idiosyncratic to describe.) Jim’s approach to teaching is similar to the practice itself, in that he encourages without offending. The teaching focuses solely on the work. Ceremony is minimal, if non-existent. Every movement has a purpose, although initially it may not be apparent.

Very truly yours,

To Whom It May Concern:

I have been studying Nei Kung with Jim Borrelli, off and on, for a year and a half. I have found it to be extremely valuable to me in many ways, some even a surprise to Jim.

Although perfectly healthy, I have never been strongly athletic, and have generally been a "cerebral" person. I started the Nei Kung class out of some concerns about being unaware of my own body. In the class, this problem had me literally not knowing whether my lower back was bent or straight! And one session with Jim should show you that that’s a pretty important issue in this discipline!

Throughout this period, Jim was supportive, not condescending, and had a good sense of humor about my situation. It took months before I even got the feelings from Nei Kung that most people get in the first session. But they did come. And as they did, my posture changed, along with my body’s look, and my attitude toward myself.

It’s hard to say whether the Nei Kung literally changed me, or just put a microscope on these problems so that I was able to focus on them and change them in other ways. Regardless, it did the trick. I’m more focused, and am extremely aware of my body now.

Besides this (which was what I was hoping for when I started the classes), I discovered last winter that the Nei Kung had an enormous impact on my skiing ability. My brother lives in Vail, and for the first time, I was keeping up with him pretty well, although I’d spent that year (outside of Nei Kung) not working out or following good health habits.

Even more shocking, I found, picking up a tennis racket for the first time in a decade, that I was better than when I used to play daily. The centeredness, and being-in-my-body-ness, has done much more for me than lessons and practice had.

` Each of the students in my class has had personal issues brought up by the work. Each has been different, and has blocked that student’s life in some way. And each student has moved forward because of the Nei Kung. I recommend this class, with Jim in particular, to anyone who feels they’re too much "in their heads," and to the rest of you as well.
